A Dubonnet Cocktail mixed and ready to drink.

Drink Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Dubonnet
  • 1 house gin
  • lemon twist (garnish)

Method: Stir

  1. Scoop a mixing glass 3/4 full with ice.
  2. Add ingredients except the garnish.
  3. Stir and strain into a chilled martini glass.
  4. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Mixology Notes:

Shown here garnished with a lime spiral, instead of the usual lemon twist. There are no syrups or bitters in this drink, because the Dubonnet is both bitter and sweet. If you happen to like it more bitter, add a dash or two of your favorite orange bitters.

A variation of this cocktail has been recorded and well publicized as Queen Elizabeth II favorite daily lunch aperitif. That recipe is 2 parts Dubonnet, to 1 part gin, with ice and a lemon slice.
